I have a decent Sofia The First collection as you know by now. Ironically though, this particular Sofia is in my Little Mermaid display, mostly because Ariel guest in the first episode that she was a mermaid.
Th packaging is typical and has a window so you can see the figure that is inside, as well as her accessories.
If you flip it over, you can see the other figures that were in this series.
The likeness is very good and looks like Sofia! Her articulation is the same as the other Sofia's in this scale for the most part. Her head goes left to right and her arms go up and down. Because she has a tail though, she has another feature. Although I have her sitting here, You can bend her tail to have her stand.
She comes with 2 accessories. The first is a mirror that has a sticker as the reflective material and the other is the sea horse from that episode. I was excited when this pack came out as up to this you had to buy a playset to get this Sofia. Since this was released though, other Mermaid Sofia sets including a Pvc like set have been released. Although I bought this awhile back ago, she is still available at places like Target, Toys R Us, and Wal-Mart.
Here is Mermaid Sofia next to her regular version. I have Mermaid Sofia propped up so that you can see how much taller she is and should be to, I might not have grown up with Sofia, but she is definitely a favorite of mine and if you have not seen an episode yet, I strongly recommend it.
THIS IS THE THIRD POST I PUBLISHED TODAY, THE OTHER ONE WAS ANOTHER COLORFORMS SET (CINDERELLA) FROM THE 70S AND WAS MY 100'TH POST! THAT IS WHY THERE IS A SECOND POST TODAY JUST TO CELEBRATE!
When you think of Winnie The Pooh you probably think of these quotes:
Bouncing is what tiggers do best
Thanks for noticing me.
Well, now lets add colorforms to that list!
When I bought the Cinderella set, I also bought this particular one.
Like all Colorform playsets, this was in a box withan image on the front and
nothing whatsoever back here.
When you pen it, you see a playset, which is a glossy cardboard like material. The side with the image is smooth though.
As you can see, the "Stickers" were there.
And they looked pretty good, unlike my Little Mermaid ones from the book, these had no discolorations!
Included in this particular set were: Owl, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit,
Eeyore, Kanga, Roo,
a bee, a hunny pot, eeyore's tail, a carrot, a butterfly or moth, and of course
Winnie the Pooh himself!
Just like with Cinderella earlier, let's have some fun now shall we?
Narrator: It was yet another beautiful day at the 100 acre woods. Christopher Robin was away at school on this spring day, so the citizens of the wood were relaxing. Winnie the Pooh was swinging on a swing until there was a rumbling in a tummy!
Winnie The Pooh: Oh bother I'm hungry!
Narrator: As Winnie tried to come up with a solution, he heard a familiar voice.
Tigger: Woohooo! I love bouncing Pooh bear, do you know why?
Narrator: It was Tigger as he skipped on the rocks via his tail.
Winnie: No why?
Tigger: Because I am a tigger and bouncing is what tigger's do best.
Winnie: Oh bother, I was hoping you'd be able to find hunny best.
Narrator: Tigger bounced away as Pooh swung on the swing.
Narrator: Suddenly Pooh saw Roo.
Winnie: Roo, will you help me find some hunny?
Roo: Sure I will Pooh.
Narrator: Alas it was not meant to be.
Kanga: Sorry Pooh, but Roo is grounded! I told him not to jump from that waterfall now get here right this minute young man.
Roo: Yes Mother, sorry Pooh.
Narrator: Just as Pooh bear was getting sad, he saw Rabbit!
Winnie: Rabbit, do you have any hunny?
Rabbit: Sorry Pooh, I gave you my last pot yesterday. All I have is a carrot.
Narrator: Pooh then asked Owl who was checking his mail outside his tree house near the cliff. Sadly Owl not only had no hunny but was far to busy to look for any.
Narrator: Piglet soon was doing his laundry at the falls, but he to was far to busy to help Pooh.
Narrator: Then Pooh saw Eeyore but eeyore was far to depressed to search for hunny. Especially since he had been sitting there the whole time and no one had noticed the poor donkey!
Narrator: Suddenly there was buzzing! Pooh bear followed the bea to it's hive and he then
Narrator: had hunny. The End.
Hope you enjoyed this story using colorforms. If these are popular I might do some not only for sets I just get, but just for some fun. I could even mix properties. Let me know if you'd like more!
THIS SHOCKS ME AS I HAVE ONLY BEEN AT THIS FOR A LITTLE OVER 3 MONTHS BUT YEAH THIS IS #100! I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR COMING TO MY BLOG BECAUSE WITHOUT YOU (OR EVEN THE POP CULTURE LEAGUE) I WOULD NOT EVEN HAVE A BLOG. THANK YOU!
With this being #100, I wanted to do something special, so here we go.... 3 posts in one! 2 are "classics!"
First up is my very first toy review. This is from February 10, 2015 and is from my very first toy blog (which lasted only a few posts). I since took down the name and just called it blog after closing it, but take a look at my first Review! Below is a pic of what the review was about!
Next up is my very first review from my YouTube channel. It is pretty bad and is from March 2016! My videos got much better lol!
Now it makes no sense to repost my first post from this blog here (For those who want to see it and not hunt it down here is the very first content post: Little Mermaid Colorforms book! The "coming soon" post was deleted long ago.)
That now finally brings us to the new content for this post :) COLORFORMS! It made sense to me as the first content post on this blog was Colorforms, might as well have #100 be one to (Plan to have #101 as one to). So since finding the Little Mermaid book, I have bought 3 other sets of vintage Colorforms. Today I will be looking at one from what looks like is from the 70's: Cinderella. Soon, I will look at the other 2.
So, many months after finding The Little Mermaid Colorforms book, I went to the other Goodwill with Cassie. I never found anymore so imagine my shock when Cassie noticed this set!
What was even more shocking was that they had 4 and a Barbie Colorform like set and some Colorform games! I only picked up two that day, and the one I will review in post #101! The other two were Barney and I left them. I went back another time and eventually did get one of the Barney sets (the only one left.)
So these were great when I was a kid! They had so many licenses so you could actually mix and match them! The box art was nice, but....
As you can see, the bottom/back was plain.
The box saw better days but for a set from supposedly the 70s (from a net search as there are no copy write dates on this set which is odd as many others had them somewhere.)
The Cinderella "Stage" is in pretty decent shape.
As you can see it is basically glossy cardboard on one side!
Also it looks as if all the stickers were still there and there was no serious paint wear.
Included were 3 versions of Cinderella to "Recreate" her transformation scene!
Of course they also included the fairy godmother and
The pumpkin, magic effects, a bird, the horse drawn carriage, a mop, and two versions of the mice!
I know its pretty basic, but I really loved these as a kid and was so happy to find so many more.
Now let's have fun....
Fairy: Hello Cinderella I am here to send you to the ball, I am your fairy godmother!
Cinderella: How did you get in here? Police! A fairy? Yeah right! Whatever drugs your on, have your trip elsewhere!
Mice: We got her shoes.
Fairy: Bippity Boppity Boo!
Cinderella: What the *Beep*!
Cinderella: Sorry for saying that you were....
Fairy: Never mind that deary, Have fun! *Whispers* Hope you like being embarrassed because I neglected to mention that at midnight you return to normal. *he he* Maybe next time you will
not bad mouth fairies!
Obviously that is not how the story went, but that was what was s great about Colorforms, like regular toys, you were only limited by your own imagination!
That's it for #100!
To continue, the celebration, let us begin the next 100 posts with another colorforms adventure as we go to a woods in search for some hunny! See you at 8PM!
On a side note, this was planned for tomorrow (as was 101) , but I decided to get all of the non holiday/winter posts done by December, so expect 2 more posts tomorrow!😲
It is once again that time of the week, It is time for The Pop Culture League challenge from Cool and Collected!
This week's Challenge is:
“There’s a sale at Penneys!”
What was one of your greatest deals?
Most of my greatest deals would have to be Goodwill, where I have gotten most of my vintage toys from!
I had to think about this one, at first i was going to do a lot, but then I decided to go with my Dino-Riders.I had three as a kid (Anklyosaurus, Deinychus, and pteradactyl) and I found all but ankly at Goodwill and they were eligible to be put in bag of toys that costs $2.99. Cassie can tell you that these were my greatest grails.
I still giggle at my story of finding the pteradcatyl as I almost left him behind thinking he was a Juarassic Park dinosaur (Hey it was decades since I had him). Luckily my "little" voice told me to look at his underside!
The Anklyosaurus I got from Brother Midnight in a trade. Funny little fact, I had the ptreadactyl and found the Deinychus (the last one I would need) and the protoceratops the DAY before I got his package, making Ankly technically the last of the 3 I needed and technically making it so that Brother Midnight finished off the 3 dinos that I had as a child!
I Could also throw in my Littles Punch out book which I got for 69 cents and sells for $25, but I will stick with the dinosaurs as they go for $15 or more but are priceless due to sentimental ties in my heart!
However; my greatest deal was technically free(unless you count food, litter, and toys) and that was when I took in my cat Kara! Although she can be vicious at times, she has been there when I truly needed her and in the end, she was the greatest deal (or decision) that I ever made!
Like my take on this topic? Then why not check out my fellow league members as they to tackle this topic:
This is my second post, my first post today was at midnight and was a review of the Netflix event: Gilmore Girls A Year In The Life and can be found HERE!
I am about to hit post #100! That milestone will be at midnight on Wednesday and to celebrate there will also be a post at noon that day as well, both will be Colorforms reviews, but #100 also goes through my history of toy blogging before I started this page which includes my very first review ever!
And speaking of my roots, I have started adding content to my YOUTUBE channel once again with some lost videos and opened up the toy haul video that was posted here on Thanksgiving! Also starting Wednesday, Mystery Wednesday (Blind Bags) returns after a long hiatus with a "lost" episode and will now be up with a new episode on the last Wednesday of every month!
My holiday event begins on Thursday at midnight and everyday until Christmas day will see not one but two (and sometimes even 3) posts each day! The times will be midnight and noon Eastern! On the days that there a third post, those will be at 8PM! The midnight posts will be my regular content (and except for a few exceptions all will be holiday or winter themed!), the noon posts will be LEGO advent calendar reviews. 8PM posts (when needed) will be misc stuff.
Finally, I Am starting two new blogs, one in January that will be revealed shortly, and the other will open on the first! Simply called Alexis' blog, this blog will revolve around my life and my cat Kara. This is where my views on politics, being transgendered, my love of snow, and fun vlogs will be spotlighted as I am making this blog strictly Pop Culture now. For December though, I am sticking with the holidays as a theme! (UPDATE: LINK ADDED, MIGHT HELP HUH?)
Well that's it for now, I hope you enjoyed my take on this week's challenge!
